Head coach Fred Rutten.
At his weekly press briefing on Friday afternoon, PSV head coach Fred Rutten previewed his side’s away game at Heracles Almelo on Sunday afternoon. Eredivisie leaders will face the Almelo outfit on the artificial turf pitch in the Polman Stadium. Georgino Wijnaldum is likely to be ruled out with a head injury.
“Conditions won’t be an issue”
Wijnaldum sustained a head injury last night and went to hospital for examination. He is likely to be ruled out for Sunday’s clash. The players are in for a physical battle on the synthetic turf system, according to Rutten. “ The conditions won’t be an issue. We must take a professional approach. Two years ago the pitch was quite slippery, but our opponents also had to cope with that. We look forward to another tough game but we are keen to run out winners all the same. We just need to roll up our sleeves and go for it”, said Rutten.

“We controlled the game”
Asked to comment on last night’s game at home to N.E.C., Rutten replied: “We have scored three excellent goals, but also conceded two sloppy goals. We controlled the game after the break, though. We didn’t put up our most commanding display of the season, but we could and should have scored two or three more goals.” Andreas Isaksson keeps his place in goal. “Tyton was given match practise against N.E.C., but Andreas will be included in Sunday’s starting XI.”
