PSV players on duty

No fewer than nine PSV players have joined up with their countries as UEFA EURO 2012 begins in earnest with a large number of matches across the continent this week. Elsewhere, Francisco ‘Maza’ Rodríguez and Atiba Hutchinson will represent their countries in international friendly matches.

Euro 2012 qualifying matches

Poland and Ukraine will host Euro 2012 and several PSV players will represent their countries in the forthcoming qualifying matches. Ibrahim Afellay, Jeremain Lens and Erik Pieterse have been included in the Netherlands squad to face San Marino on Friday, September 3, and Finland at the Rotterdam Kuip on Tuesday, September 7. Stanislav Manolev´s Bulgaria head to Wembley to lock horns with England on Friday and play host to Montenegro in Sofia four days later. Jagos Vukovic has been called up to the Serbia squad for the forthcoming Euro 2012 qualifying matches away at the Faroe Islands in Torshavn and at home to Slovenia. Marcus Berg, Andreas Isaksson and Ola Toivonen are all in the Sweden squad for Friday’s game in Solna against Balázs Dzsudzsak´s Hungary and Tuesday’s game against San Marino. On Tuesday, Hungary will entertain Moldavia in Budapest.

Mexico and Canada
Elsewhere, PSV players are involved in international friendly matches. Francisco ‘Maza’ Rodríguez has received a call-up to the Mexico squad for Saturday’s match against Ecuador in Guadalajara and Tuesday’s match against Colombia in Monterry. Atiba Hutchinson has been named in the Canada squad for the international friendly matches against Peru in Toronto on Saturday and against Honduras in Montreal three days later.
