PSV settled for a 1-1 draw against Heracles

PSV were the better side for seventy minutes but were guilty of not taking their chances against Heracles Almelo: 1-1.Zakaria Labyad gave Fred Rutten’s team the lead after 19 minutes and PSV created numerous chances in the first 45 minutes. Yet they had to settle for a 1-1 draw, as Everton scored an equaliser in the 76th minute.
Sixth draw of the season PSV were held to a draw for the sixth time this season, but this afternoon’s 1-1 draw at Heracles Almelo was the shock result of the campaign so far. PSV missed a host of chances and conceded nothing and yet at the end of the day they disappointingly only took one point instead of three. They omitted to kill off the game and have only themselves to blame for dropping two points in Almelo. PSV missed out on the opportunity to take a five-point lead at the top of the table, with their nearest competitors seeing their games postponed.
First-half goal by Zakaria Labyad Labyad replaced the injured Wijnaldum, as Strootman, Labyad and Lens PSV created chances for PSV at the Polman Stadion. Zakaria Labyad gave Fred Rutten’s team a deserved lead after 19 minutes. Willems intercepted a pass and played in Labyad who netted his fourth goal of the season with a powerful shot. PSV created more goal threat in the remaining minutes of the first half but failed to convert any of these opportunities into goals. Andreas Isaksson was hardly called into action.

Everton netted second-half equaliser
The second half continued in the same vein. Matavz, Toivonen and Lens all had chances but could not extend PSV´s lead. Trailing by only one goal, Heracles remained in the game and eventually Everton levelled things in the 76th minute. Isaksson pulled off a save to deny Quansah but Everton headed home the rebound. Manolev picked up a yellow card and misses PSV´s next match, at home to De Graafschap on Sunday.
