UEFA has banned ‘Maza’ Rodriguez for two European matches following his sending off in PSV´s Europa League loss to FC Sibir. The defender was shown a straight red card for pushing Shevchenko. If PSV succeed in progressing to the group stage of the Europa League on Thursday, ‘Maza’ will have to sit out the first leg.

UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body imposed a one-match suspension earlier this week, prior to a final decision at a meeting on 25th August. ‘Maza’ was shown a straight red card on the stroke of half time during the match at FC Sibir Novosibirsk. It is the first time the Mexican has been suspended for a match in a European competition. PSV have decided not to launch an appeal.
